Welcome on my blog about EVE Online! I read that CCP, developers of EVE Online, has been known for its yearly growth by being ranked on the Media Momentum's Larger Companies List 2009. In addition, CCP has won the Media Momentum Award, which honours the most fashionable and fastest growing digital media companies in Europe.
The industry recognition follows EVE Online's subscriber base topping three-hundred thousands, as the game celebrated its 6th anniversary on May 6, 2009. To support continued in-game growth and creative development of EVE Online CCP is also increasing its headcount recruiting top industry talent, for about 60 positions over the course of 2009.
CCP's CEO, Hilmar Petursson, accepted the company's Media Momentum Award for "Vision and Future Growth Potential" and attended at an invitation-only awards dinner on May 13, 2009 in London. Said Petursson: "CCP is honored to receive this award as it validates our earliest plans of the future for EVE Online—a true virtual society that has a real sense of history and intrigue between players. We feel fortunate to have experienced dynamic growth both in our products and as a company and hope to use that energy to propel them further."
I would like to tell you about some interesting news from EVE world. EVE gamers, probably heard about the GHSC infiltration incident, when a group of undercover – agents worked for probably most successful corporations in the game, spending over a year working undercover to gain enough trust of the members, who granted them access to the corp hangars. What followed was, in opinion of all experts in online game industry, one of the most incredible heists in MMORPG ever. This undercover group stole around 30 billion ISK from the corporation. It’s not all because they also destroyed leader’s starship and escape pods. The most important thing is to get a lot of EVE Online ISK and this way you can really have everything you want like powerful starships (including amazing Titan Class starships worth billions of EVE ISK !!!). How to get cash can be complicated so you should read more in this topic or you will waste a lot of money. Risk in some part of galaxy can be very high (0.0 is dead zone), and your each move is very important. You must be cunning, smart, think twice and have powerful friends. Just like in real life…. Life is brutal just like EVE so prepare yourself that you starship will be destroyed many, many time and you waste a lot of EVE ISK…
The map is in 3D and can be rotated if you hold down your right mouse button and move the mouse around. Holding down the left mouse button will shift the map in the direction you move your mouse. If you hold both the left and the right buttons you will zoom in and out depending on how you move the mouse. The mouse wheel will also zoom in and out. The system where you are currently will be circled and marked with a "You are here". Nice isn’t?
